John “Tinker” Connelly Pavilion Dedication

A new era

Northeastern University dedicated the John “Tinker” Connelly Pavilion at Friedman Diamond on Saturday, May 16. Members of the Connelly family were joined by current Northeastern baseball head coach Mike Glavine, DMSB’97 (left), former head coach Neil McPhee, BHS’68 (right), and a large crowd of former players and fans. Connelly, DMSB’53, captained the 1952 Northeastern baseball team and coached at the university for more than 25 years. He led the Huskies to their first and only College World Series appearance in 1966. He was inducted into the Northeastern Hall of Fame in 1975, and the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
