Dear Northeastern Community,
Throughout the pandemic, Northeastern’s health and safety protocols have been guided by the best available science, including expertise from our own faculty, and informed by the latest public health guidance. We have continually adapted our protocols as needed, keeping the holistic health and wellness of our community at the forefront of our decision making.
Northeastern is a fully vaccinated community with a booster requirement. Given the effectiveness of the vaccines, and the significant reduction in cases across North America, we are pleased to announce the lifting of restrictions across all of our North American campuses.
- Events and gatherings can revert to being in-person, and no longer need to be reviewed, except as needed to reserve space.
- As of February 9th, 2022, non-Northeastern guests will be allowed in residence halls as long as they comply with the university’s vaccination and masking requirements, and in accordance with Housing and Residence Life’s pre-COVID policies.
- Restrictions on university-sponsored travel have been lifted. University-sponsored travel does require registration and Northeastern’s Global Safety and Security Assessment Committee (GSSAC) will review as always in the case of higher-risk destinations.
At present, Northeastern will maintain the requirements for masking indoors and weekly asymptomatic testing at our U.S. campuses. These measures are currently being evaluated and will be revisited as the semester progresses.
As we have done throughout the pandemic, we will continue to monitor developments and be prepared to pivot as needed to protect our community. We thank you for your continued understanding and flexibility as we navigate the shifting landscape of COVID-19. If you have questions, please refer to comprehensive online resources here or submit questions to NUCOVID19Qs@northeastern.edu.
Sincerely,
