    Wendy Parmet, the director of Northeastern University’s Center for Health Policy and Law who has taught and written about public health law for decades, said she’s noticed a backlash against public health powers and decision-making at the judicial and legislative levels. She said she fears legislators are reacting to the heat of the moment, and as a result, are enacting “fairly blunt and perhaps crude” responses.
