Nahant school receives Ocean Stewardship Award, Landmark speech pathologist honored
Boston Globe - 06/16/2017
Nahant’s Johnson Elementary School has been awarded the Ocean Stewardship Award from the New England Aquarium for its work educating students about marine science, maritime history, and ocean literacy. The school created a plan with help from Northeastern University’s Marine Science Center and the Nahant Education Foundation that ensures each class takes part in at least three marine science lab activities each year. Students visit sites alongside Northeastern outreach educator Valeria Perini, on a bus provided by the Nahant Council on Aging. The Johnson School will receive a free school program from the aquarium for its achievement.
