  • N.Y., Boston terror parallels

    Boston Herald - 06/18/2015

“What we could be seeing are some copycats being inspired by each other. There are certainly some similarities in these cases,” said terror expert and Northeastern University professor Max Abrahms, referring to the recent alleged plot in Boston to behead cops. Usaamah Rahim of Roslindale was shot dead after authorities say he lunged at police and FBI agents with a military-style knife.

“Many lone wolves are people who secretly wish they were part of an established terrorist organization — and so these guys are simply saying: ‘I would like to be an ISIS member but I really can’t get there — so I’m going to do whatever I can here at home.’ ”
