    Kenneth G. Ryder, former president of Northeastern University, has died, according to the university’s website. He was 88.

    Ryder was NU’s fourth president, serving for 14 years beginning in 1975. During his tenure, he launched the College of Computer Science as well as nearly two dozen research institutes, according to Northeastern.
