    “You can look at being relegated to the 5 p.m. debate as a form of punishment, but it’s also kind of liberating because there’s fewer people on stage so you are not fighting for time as much — and no Donald Trump,” said Alan Schroeder, a professor at Northeastern University in Boston and author of “Presidential Debates: 50 Years of High-Risk TV.”
