    Dan Kennedy, a journalism professor at Northeastern University, called out major news outlets including the Times, Reuters, and the Boston Globe for running native ads in which Philip Morris, the tobacco giant, promotes research around smoke-free products. Most newspapers stopped taking cigarette ads a long time ago; Kennedy argues that they should now “take the next step” and refuse to accept ads for all tobacco products.
