Boston startup launches GilaPad to ‘revolutionize digital learning’

Tuatara is working with McGraw Hill Higher Education, and is in the “final stages” of signing another major U.S. publisher, he said.
The ultimate mission, according to a news release, is to help users “get the most from the vast amounts of information becoming available every day” and “revolutionize the digital learning experience.”
Xicay says he launched the company in December 2010 after seeing how fragmented the student workflow could be during his time as a student at Northeastern University.
Tuatara has been developing GilaPad ever since, and now employs 12 full-time at its office on Congress Street. The company plans to hire five “marketing ambassadors” in the next few weeks, who will visit schools in the area and introduce the product to students, Xicay said.
