  • Attack by ‘animals’ likely to further raise tensions

    Boston Herald - 11/19/2014

U.S. officials joined Israeli counterparts in condemning yesterday’s attack, but the incident is unlikely to help strengthen the strained relationship between President Obama and Netanyahu.

That strain stems from a disagreement over the response to Iran’s nuclear program and Israel’s settlement policy and it won’t end unless the two nations can find some common ground, said Dov Waxman, of Northeastern University’s Middle East Center.

“We will see what will happen when and if some (Iran) agreement emerges,” Waxman said. “Whatever temporary sympathy the U.S. expresses for this situation may quickly be forgotten in what will become a public argument if a nuclear deal emerges.”
