HuskyCable users now have access to more channels, streaming service

Students living in residence halls now have an upgraded HuskyCable viewing experience that includes HD over standard definition, more channels, as well as online access to live streaming TV and On Demand programming.

HuskyCable HDplus, which went into effect earlier this month and is included in the student room rate, is a combination of two different television cable services: HuskyCable HD, which offers students 60 broadcast and premium HD television channels in their residence hall rooms, and internet protocol television through XFINITY On Campus, an online streaming service that provides access to 200 live channels as well as thousands of shows and movies via XFINITY On Demand.

With XFINITY On Campus, students now have live steaming television, video on demand, and subscription services for premium channels or sports entertainment packages for an additional fee, all on computers and mobile devices.

HuskyCable HD is available to students in university-owned residence halls. All students have to do to access the service is connect a television to the cable port in their room and then run a channel scan on the television. The Student Government Association selected all 60 of the channels available through HuskyCable HD.

Students can access XFINITY On Campus on Windows and Mac computers as well as mobile devices that run on iOS or Android OS. XFINITY On Campus apps are available for iOS and Android, and the app is required in order to access content on an Apple device, but that does not include Apple TV.

XFINITY On Campus is only available on campus, and students must be connected to a Northeastern network such as ResNet or NUwave. Students can register up to three devices, but streaming is only available on one device at a time.

To access XFINITY On Campus: Go to https://xfinityoncampus.com/login, select Northeastern University from the drop down menu, and then enter your myNEU username and password.
