It was back to class on Wednesday for Northeastern students, and we asked some to share what they are most looking forward to during the 2015-16 academic year.

From meeting new people, to embarking on co-ops, to taking their first college class, these students couldn’t wait to immerse themselves in campus life.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what college courses are like compared to high school courses.” – Alex Dickerson, DMSB’20

 

“I was actually excited about the end of Welcome Week because it meant classes would be starting.” – Ashley Mooko, DMSB’20

 

“I’m most excited to meet new people. I have a [graduate assistant] position with the Honors Program, and it’s great working with the new students. Now that everyone’s back it’s exciting.” – graduate student Robert Haskell

 

“I’m going to stay more focused this year, and that means spending a lot of time in the library.” – Julianne Pisano, DMSB’19

 

“The education system is so different than in India, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what it’s like.” – Deepak Khobragade, MS’17

 

“My first class today is calculus, and I’m excited about it in a scared kind of way. I’m just ready for the start of classes, and clubs, and making those lasting friendships.” – Julia Stoddard, E’20

 

“I’m a computer science major and my only class so far has been freshman English, so I’m looking forward to taking classes for my major and doing some actual computer work.” – Raveena Jain, CIS/S’20

 

“I already had a calculus class and it was great because we actually learned something on the first day. And I’m in the Honors Program, so I’m excited for that enhancement.” – Julia Hostetter, E’20

 

“I’m really excited about everything. I spent two months studying abroad at the London School of Economics so I’m happy to be back on campus.” – Nikhilesh More, DMSB’17

 

“My brain feels a little rusted from the four months of summer so I’m just excited for classes to get started.” Ashna Singh, S’20

 

“I’m headed to the gym, which I think is a great way to start the semester. I’ve been working in India for the past two and a half years, so I’m excited to get back to being a student. I got here about 15 days ago to get the feel for the campus, which is beautiful.” – Rohitkumar Shanbhag, MS’17

 

“I transferred to Northeastern, so this is my first semester here. All of the classes are new to me so I’m looking forward to them and I’m thinking about getting involved with the Finance and Investment Club.” – Ahmed Alagil, DMSB/SSH’18

 

“I’m excited to learn more things about subjects I am passionate about. I’ve always been interested in psychology and the brain, so I’m looking forward to learning more about that,” – Chelsea Rutagengwa, S’20.
