The class of alumni at Northeastern University’s School of Law will grow by more than 240 on Friday afternoon, when the school will hold its 2014 commencement exercises at Matthews Arena.

University leaders, faculty, staff, family, and friends will join in celebrating the Class of 2014 at commencement, which will begin at 1 p.m. and be streamed live. Attendees and others watching online are encouraged to use the hashtag #NUSL2014 to follow the action and tweet about the ceremony.

Randall L. Kennedy, a leading scholar on race issues and the Michael R. Klein Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, will deliver the commencement address. Kennedy joined Harvard’s faculty in 1984 and teaches courses in contracts, criminal law, and the regulation of race relations. He is not only a leading commenter on issues of race and crime but also interracial marriage, interracial adoption, constitutional law, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Law school dean Jeremy R. Paul will preside over the ceremony and Stephen W. Director, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, will confer the degrees and deliver the charge to the graduates. The Honorable Isaac Boren­stein ’75 will deliver the fac­ulty address.

Commencement will also feature four student speakers: Courtney Allessio, Deirdre Foley, Rafaela Garreta Prats Serrano, and Jennifer Lea Huer, all L’14.
