Gerald Herman, a revered member of the Northeastern community for 50 years, dedicated his career to serving students, faculty, and staff. “There’s no question about the fact that he did more to serve Northeastern than any other person I’ve ever known,” said Raymond Robinson, Herman’s former mentor, colleague, and longtime friend. Herman died last week at the age of 73.
At its first meeting of the 2017-18 session, the Faculty Senate elected professor Susan Powers-Lee as the new chair of the Senate Agenda Committee. Four other faculty members were elected Senate Agenda Committee members for the first time, and the outgoing Senate honored one of its exemplary former members, Professor Emeritus Gerald H. Herman, who retired in 2015 after 50 years of service to Northeastern.
