Dr. Neil Maniar, director of Northeastern University’s public health program, told Newsweek that this news is “very concerning” and warned there could be future outbreaks over the coming years if trends surrounding vaccinations do not reverse.

CHIP50 is a joint initiative from Northeastern University, Harvard University, Rutgers University, and the University of Rochester that has collected large-scale state-based survey data since April 2020. 

“The strength of any currency depends on people’s willingness to hold it, and the world now is skeptical of the future of the U.S., especially with the passage of the budget bill,” said Peter Simon, a professor at Northeastern University’s Department of Economics.

“Losing your vehicle is much more easy to replace than losing your life,” says Stephen Wood, an associate professor at Northeastern University’s nursing school who has worked in emergency medicine.

Daniel Aldrich, who studies disasters and their aftermath at Northeastern University, said establishing trust between disaster victims and the government is key to recovery.

“This sort of pre-backlash has really become part of the major intrigue heading into this premiere,” said Steve Granelli, an expert on film and pop culture at Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design.

While the report focused only on collisions, other measures of auto safety, like rates of injuries and deaths, show Massachusetts is one of the safest states for drivers, said Peter Furth, a civil and environmental engineering professor at Northeastern University.
