As artificial intelligence continues to take over the tech world, the government is trying to make sure an emerging and powerful new technology isn’t unfairly dominated by the giant incumbents, said John Kwoka, an economics and antitrust professor at Northeastern University.

“Malnourished babies were left vulnerable to illness and, in severe cases, death,” says Darin Detwiler, a food safety advisor, author and professor at Northeastern University featured in the documentary Poisoned.

They include Brief, a platform founded last year by Diana Tan and Andrew Wu. The startup is among 10 in the Founder Residency cohort at Northeastern University’s Roux Institute in Portland.

The bigger issue, though, is that the “confined nature of airplane travel makes foodborne illness outbreaks especially challenging to manage,” Darin Detwiler, a food safety adviser at Northeastern University, said to the Post.

 And is that how online advertisers are able to serve such specific ads? David Choffnes, associate professor at Northeastern University, says it’s not that simple.

“There are going to be some profound changes” in antitrust policies, predicts John Kwoka, an economics professor at Northeastern University that has periodically worked on antitrust issues with the FTC and Justice Department.
