Costas Panagopoulos, a political science professor at Northeastern University, told Newsweek that polls “suggest Harris is outperforming Biden nationally against Trump, and the boost is apparent across the board among most subgroups of voters including whites.

“I certainly hope that this is not our new normal for COVID,” says Samuel Scarpino, who studies infectious diseases at Northeastern University in Boston.

“Northeastern is a university in tune with reality, which means that we constantly are thinking about what’s changing in the world and how it’s impacting us, and how we are impacting this change ourselves,” said Joseph Aoun, president of Northeastern.

But that could be hard to prove, said Richard Daynard, distinguished professor of law at Northeastern University in Boston. Attorneys will have a difficult time demonstrating that the implosion and resulting deaths were not instantaneous, he said.

Alan Schroeder, Professor Emeritus at Northeastern University, told Newsweek about another potential contrast in their styles. “Trump is famously undisciplined and willing to subvert live events into opportunities for anarchy,” he said.

“Covering songs during a live performance, a band or an artist can do that based on blanket licenses that the venue owners get from the performance rights organization,” said Alexandra Roberts, a professor of law and media at Northeastern University.

“They’re clearly emphasizing Harris,” said Katherine Haenschen, an assistant professor of communications and political science at Northeastern University. “It’s a good, solid logo.”
