To promote the health and well-being of the Northeastern University community during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, visitors to Northeastern’s campuses are expected to comply with this protocol. This protocol may be modified or updated from time to time, consistent with federal, state, and local guidance.
Visitor Definition: For purposes of this protocol, a visitor is any individual who does not have a current and active university identification card.
All Visitors: Visitors must remain away from campus if they feel sick, have tested positive, or believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19. All visitors are required to adhere to Northeastern face-covering requirements while they are on campus. All visitors must comply with federal, state, and local guidelines and/or regulations.
Short-Term Visitors: All external visitors 12 and older who attend campus indoor events, including indoor athletics events and single-day conferences, are required to present proof of full vaccination or provide a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours prior to the event. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result is not required for brief campus visits, such as for an admissions tour or for a one-time meeting. Please see the event protocol for more information on the proof of vaccination and negative test result.
All Other Visitors: Visitors who are on campus for a period longer than one day, including nonconsecutive days, must perform a wellness assessment as provided by the university prior to their campus visit. Visitors in this category must also demonstrate proof of full vaccination or confirmation of a negative PCR or viral antigen COVID test within 72 hours of their scheduled visit. These visitors must confirm their name, contact information, location, and reason for their visit using the Visitor Registration Form.
Visitors to University Housing in Boston: Students can welcome Northeastern student guests to their university housing, subject to capacity limitations published by the university. Family members are permitted in university housing only for the duration of the drop-off visit when dropping off students for the term. At this time, other visitors are not permitted within university housing.
For those planning events on Northeastern’s campuses whose attendees may include visitors, consult the Event Policy for the requirements of events during the pandemic.
Visitors who fail to comply with university COVID-19 protocols will be asked to leave university property and/or the activity they are attending.
