Some students on Northeastern’s Boston campus are trying to beat the heat by sipping cold drinks, lounging in the shade, and studying in air conditioned buildings. Others wish the summer would never end. But I was just in Florida on co-op, so this is nothing.” Matt Wikstrom, music industry “I don’t have AC at my house, so I take multiple cold showers a day. I just jump in for a few minutes then put my clothes back on and go back to class.” Kelsey Powers, a mechanical engineering major, and Matt Wikstrom, a music industry major, sit in a hammock on Centennial Common on August 6, 2018. I play basketball, so when it’s really hot out I go to the gym.” Claudia Ortiz, a psychology major, sits in the West Village quad on August 6, 2018. Photo by Adam Glanzman/Northeastern University
