A fresh coating of snow welcomed students back to the Boston campus this week. At the Roux Institute in Maine, researchers worked on a new web-based tool that uses AI to diagnose prostate cancer faster and more accurately. Back on the Boston campus, the community celebrated Dr. King and those continuing his work at Northeastern’s annual “A Tribute to the Dream” event ahead of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

After caring for her father following his heart attack at age 35, and caring for her sister with bipolar disorder, Kalish was inspired to become a physicians assistant in order to treat patients holistically and with an eye towards both their physical and mental health. As the daughter of a Black and Jewish man and Chicana mother, Susana is also dedicated to advancing equity and working with communities who have historically distrusted medical providers. .
