This week, Northeastern students took their books and laptops outside to get some fresh air while studying for their final exams. Meanwhile, Northeastern researchers Rébecca Kleinberger and Jennifer Cunha released a new study on pet parrots. After teaching parrots to video-call other parrots, they found that these feathered birds are likely to learn new skills (think: foraging and flying) and form lasting friendships through their screens. These Huskies weren’t the only ones spending time with animals: Northeastern co-op student Isabella Welch spent part of her week at the New England Aquarium in Boston, where she helped care for and train sea lions and harbor seals.
