Debate the ethics of facial recognition technology

In this era of digital innovation, has the emergence of face recognition technology proven that surveillance technology has finally gone too far? Discuss this issue and the questions surrounding it at “About Face: The Changing Landscape of Face Recognition” on Friday, May 10, at 9 a.m. in 105 Shillman.

Cheer on the Huskies

Be sure to check out the  baseball team as the Huskies take on James Madison University in their final home games of the season on May 10-11. The games will be played on Friedman Diamond in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Enhance your reading skills

Want to practice your critical reading skills to achieve academic success? Every Tuesday this May, the office of Global Student Success will host reading workshops in room 435 of the Curry Student Center at 11:30 a.m.

Explore the Align program

The Northeastern University Align program is designed for people who don’t have a technical background, but are interested in combining their undergraduate education with a master’s degree in computer science. Chat with current Align students and staff at the Align Look Inside information session on Wednesday, May 15, at 5 p.m. in room 366 of West Village H.

Learn to write Chinese calligraphy

Participate in a free Chinese calligraphy session with artist Rayna Lo to learn how to write Chinese characters with brush and ink. The workshop, which will be taught in English, will take place at Northeastern Crossing on Thursday, May 16, at 5 p.m.

Attend the Women in the Law Conference

The Women in the Law Conference will provide career guidance to women attorneys and other professionals at all stages of their careers. The conference, which will be held on May 17 at the Northeastern School of Law, will include panel discussions on topics such as pay equity and civil rights, speed mentoring sessions, and networking opportunities with practicing attorneys.

Looking to see a diverse display of art created by Northeastern students? The Department of Art + Design is exhibiting its annual Senior Show in Gallery 360 through May 20th. Projects on display include animations, illustrations, sculptures, videos, and information graphics.
