More than 180 Northeastern students traveled to 18 different locations across Belize, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and the U.S. as part of the Center of Community Service’s Alternative Spring Break. The students worked on a variety of service projects ranging from volunteering with a humane society in Vermont to collecting coffee in Costa Rica. Take a look back through their transformative experiences in this collection of photos shared by the students on social media.
Mike Nelson, a third-year physics major, biked 825 miles from Brussels to Bern, Switzerland, as part of his five-week journey from his semester abroad in Scotland to his co-op in Italy. “When I look back at the experience,” he said, “I just remember how much fun I was having.”
