07/07/15 - BOSTON, MA. - Lauren Jarmusz, BHS'15/PhD'16, is studying for her doctorate in physical therapy and recently co-founded a startup called Physiocare. The startup, which is not yet up and running, aims to connect patients with physical therapists via a mobile app. Once connected, the physical therapist would perform a thorough musculoskeletal exam on the patient and then design a personalized exercise rehab routine, schedule follow up appointments, or set them up with a trainer. 07/08/15 - BOSTON, MA. - Steven Cranford, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Cranford plays guitar, and made him think about an interesting research idea: can he produce "molecular music.” This involved putting carbyne—which is a one-dimensional chain of carbon atoms—into tension at the molecular scale and reading the vibration frequencies. He demonstrated that different frequencies can be produced and compared to a standard musical scale by adjusting the chain’s tension and length. Photo by: Matthew Modoono/Northeastern University
