In the lab: Mike Pollastri

Chemistry and chemical biology associate professor Michael Pollastri has several undergraduate and graduate students working in his lab. They mix and create compounds, test whether those compounds are what is needed, and hope to find treatments for many of the world’s neglected tropical diseases. Naimee Mehta, a second-year graduate student, and Anthony Varca, who received his bachelor’s of science degree in May, are two of these students. They both are hopeful that the work they are doing will help to change the world.
