Husky women in CAA volleyball final

During a season showcasing Husky women’s athletic prowess, the Northeastern volleyball team advanced to the Colonial Athletic League championship game Monday night.

The volleyball team fell to Delaware in the final contest at Northeastern’s Solomon Court.

The team’s success comes on the heels of the Northeastern field hockey team’s first National Field Hockey League championship and the women’s soccer team winning the CAA championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

As icing on the Huskies’ cake, women’s basketball co-captain Ashlee Feldman recently put up her 1,000th college point, during the season opener against St. John’s.

The hoops team plays Boston University in a men’s/women’s double-header in Matthews Arena Tuesday night that’s been dubbed the “Battle of Boston.” (The men’s game, at 8 p.m., will be televised on New England Sports Network.)

The double-header is the occasion for Northeastern’s Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night, and will also be attended by hundreds of schoolchildren from Boston neighborhoods, as well as alumni.
