From ice cream socials and speedboat tours to resume drop-ins, allyship sessions and the Intercultural Empathy Symposium, there’s something for everyone. LinkedIn, CV, Resume: CommLab Drop-In Workshops

Students can drop in for personalized advice and peer feedback on their LinkedIn profiles, CVs and resumes. These weekly sessions hosted by the CommLab are open to all and offer practical tips to help strengthen professional materials and prepare for career opportunities.

In this virtual workshop, Sasha Goldman, Ph.D., and Cameron Sheehy, M.Ed., will guide students through strategies for refining resumes, cover letters and interview skills. Husky How-To: Tune in to Amateur Radio

Students can explore the world of amateur (ham) radio in this introductory session with Collin McKinley, Khoury ’26 and president of the NU Wireless Club. Learn about equipment, licensing and the global community you can join — from hobbyists to emergency responders. No experience required. Registration is encouraged.

Intercultural Communication Skills

Students can join Global Learner Support for a hands-on workshop to develop intercultural communication skills. The session will explore strategies for navigating different cultural contexts and offer opportunities to practice more effective and inclusive communication in today’s global environment. Poster Design and Presentation: CommLab Drop-In Workshops

Students working on research posters are invited to this hybrid CommLab workshop focused on visual design and presentation skills. Part one includes brainstorming, feedback and tips for effectively communicating your research. Open to all experience levels.

Canobie Lake Park

Engaging in Allyship with Northeastern’s LGBTQA Resource Center

Codzilla speed-boat tour

GLS Conversation Series: Celebrating PRIDE with Mike Sun

Join Global Learner Support for a special PRIDE Month conversation with Mike Sun, a Northeastern staff member and advocate. Mike will share his journey as a Queer Chinese international student and reflect on how his intersecting identities have shaped his personal and professional life. ASL Summer Symposium

Friday, June 20 – Sunday, June 22

Boston campus (multiple locations)

Students can immerse themselves in American Sign Language during this three-day symposium led by Deaf instructors. Designed for learners at all levels, the program offers a fully ASL-only environment to strengthen language skills and cultural understanding. Registration is required.

Intercultural Empathy Symposium

Monday, June 23 – Wednesday, June 25

Virtual

Join Global Learner Support for Northeastern’s annual Intercultural Empathy Symposium, a multi-day virtual event exploring empathy, belonging and global understanding in higher education. Through keynote talks and panel discussions, students, faculty and staff will engage with topics such as communication in diverse teams, cultural mentorship, identity and systems thinking.
