Everything you need to know about Commencement Week 2025

Northeastern’s Commencement Week 2025, a two-week celebration of graduates, runs from April 26 to May 11 with events for students and families.
Senior Week: April 26-May 9
Senior Week kicks off the celebration with events for undergraduates to make lasting memories before graduation. The full schedule launches April 7, with registration opening April 14 at 8 p.m. EDT.
College celebrations: May 5-10
Graduates can participate in college celebrations in Matthews Arena, featuring stage walks, official photos and interactive installations. Afterward, join classmates and guests at the Husky Hospitality Hub at Cabot Physical Education Center for music and more photo ops. Each graduate may bring up to three guests, with general admission seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Commencement: May 11
Commencement will feature two ceremonies at Fenway Park:
- The graduate ceremony begins at 10 a.m. EDT, celebrating graduate students as they walk the stage and receive their degrees.
- The undergraduate ceremony follows at 4 p.m. EDT, featuring a full academic program led by President Joseph E. Aoun.
Graduation roadmap
Northeastern offers an interactive roadmap to guide students through essential steps leading to graduation. It includes how to apply to graduate, order caps and gowns and register for events.
Senior portraits and class ring events
Balfour representatives will be on campus at 300 Mass Ave., Boston, on Feb. 7, 8, 21 and 22 to take senior portraits and assist with class ring orders. Seniors are encouraged to secure a timeslot in advance. Participation is free and caps and gowns will be provided for the photos. Sign up for portraits here.

Senior gift campaign
Seniors are invited to contribute to Northeastern’s legacy through the Senior Gift program. Those who donate $20.25 or more by Commencement Week will receive a special donor medal to wear during the ceremony and an invitation to the senior donor champagne reception.
