Dear Colleagues,
We want to share with you an important update to the existing Visitor Protocol, which restricts visits to Northeastern’s campuses from those outside the university community who do not have a current and active university identification card.
The Visitor Protocol and the following guidance apply to all of Northeastern’s locations across the global network.
Effective today, December 3nd, all essential and non-essential visitors must be registered by the host department using the new Visitor Registration Form.
Requesting Approval for Non-Essential Visitors
Visitors who are not deemed essential per the definition outlined in the existing Visitor Protocol, will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by the department’s senior vice president, or their designee. To request approval of a non-essential visitor, please complete the Visitor Registration Form and provide information regarding the reason for the non-essential visit, including why it needs to be an in-person visit instead of a virtual meeting.
Hosting a Visitor
As the host of a visitor, you are responsible for the following:
- Provide the visitor with a pass that must specify the dates of the visit and be displayed while on campus. To request a visitor pass, please contact NUPD or the office of your senior vice president.
- Remind the visitor of the health and safety protocols they must follow during their visit, including wearing a face covering, maintaining a healthy distance from others, complying with entry/exit protocols, practicing good personal hygiene, and complying with all applicable state and local guidelines, including that visitors arriving from out of state may be required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours or quarantine for 14 days.
- Provide the visitor with the wellness questionnaire and confirm that the visitor has completed the questionnaire when they arrive on campus. If the individual is symptomatic or has been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 within the last 14 days, advise the individual that they will have to reschedule their visit.
We hope that the visitor communication template and wellness screening questionnaire will be helpful tools for you in communicating this important information to visitors.
For more information regarding the visitor protocol, and other important information, please visit Northeastern’s COVID-19 website.
Sincerely,
David Madigan
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
