We are pleased to share some important information about some of our most-frequented venues on campus:
First, Snell library is opening tomorrow, September 8. To access the library, you will need your Northeastern ID, a space reservation, and a face mask. Visit the Student Hub for information about how to book space in the library.
The library looks different! To allow for increased study space for students, books are now located off campus in a separate Annex. Almost a million e-books are available through the library in addition to journals, newspapers, films, and other media. Over the course of the fall semester, the library will introduce services to request print books from the Library Annex and from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan.
More library resources are available to students by searching Scholar OneSearch or choosing a Research Subject Guide.Or, ask-a-librarian. Email, chat, text, or set up an appointment. The staff are here to help.
We are also pleased to announce that both the Marino Recreation Center and SquashBusters Center will open starting at 6am on Friday, September 11, 2020. There is a new reservation system that allows for an individualized workout experience, utilizing the Atleto App. Download the IOS or Android app for free via the App Store and Google Play. To access the Campus Recreation Facilities, you will need your Northeastern ID, a zone reservation, and a face mask.
Things will also look and feel different at Marino and SquashBusters. In addition to increased sanitation measures, reducing overall density is necessary. Virtual programming along with individual in-person options will continue to be offered; however, most group programming and drop-in recreation continue to be temporarily suspended. For more information about the recreation facilities and programs, please visit the Campus Recreation website.
The Cabot Center track, turf, and the swimming pool will not be open in the fall initially, except for supervised access for varsity student-athletes on a limited basis.
As a reminder, when frequenting these facilities and all other places on campus, please remember to wear a mask, wear your ID on a lanyard, keep a healthy distance from others, and wash your hands regularly. Thank you!
