Dear Northeastern University community,

The free exchange of ideas is one of the hallmarks of a great university. As an institution of higher learning, Northeastern is committed to fostering an open dialogue on critical issues, and maintaining an inclusive educational environment where diverse views can be safely expressed in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

We support our students expressing their views by demonstrating in a peaceful and respectful fashion, and we want to share the university protocol required for demonstrations and protests organized by Northeastern students and student organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following guidance applies for students seeking to register or organize a protest or demonstration on Northeastern’s campus:

Students participating in off-campus demonstrations are still expected to adhere to all Northeastern COVID-19 policies and protocols, including face mask requirements, social distancing, and occupancy/density limits.

Please read the protocol and contact the Center for Student Involvement (csi@northeastern.edu) if you have questions. Our staff will be happy to assist you in understanding and following the protocol so you can keep the community safe while making your voices heard.
