Don’t be frightened! With Halloween approaching, we’ve got no shortage of things to do this weekend.

Freaky Fenway: September was frightening enough for Sox fans, but now Fenway Park is taking a turn for the outright scary, hosting “The Fear at Fenway,” a haunted event from Spooky World running through Nov. 6. There will be three haunted houses inside the storied ballpark, featuring ghosts, ghouls and — if you’re lucky — perhaps some fried chicken from the team’s pitching staff. Tickets are $35, with discounts available for students for standard evening shows on Sunday through Thursday.

Shop ‘til you drop dead: For its last event of the season, the SoWa Open Market is holding “Market of the Living Dead,” pairing its usual fare of food trucks, a farmers market and goods available from some 130 artists and designers with Halloween events, including a costume contest with a top prize of $250. The event runs Sunday in the South End from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with costume judging scheduled for 2 p.m.

Great Pumpkins: Yesterday, 40 Northeastern students carved pumpkins in Stetson East and today’s your chance to vote for the best. Swing by the Xhibition Kitchen between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to cast your vote in the 11th annual competition, with the top three winners — receiving cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 — announced on Monday.

Salem Express: Any regular MBTA commuter can share a horror story from the subway, bus or commuter rail, but those looking to travel to Salem for Halloween weekend should have nothing to fear. The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail has added extra trains to and from Salem this weekend and on Monday, Halloween.

Boo at the zoo: This weekend, the wild animals won’t be the only scary things about the Franklin Park Zoo. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the zoo will host a number of Halloween events, including a haunted maze, a trick-or-treat trail, a hayride through the zoo and encounters with lions and tigers and hippos — oh my!

Senior Day: For those looking to avoid a fright, three Northeastern teams are having Senior Day games on Saturday. The men’s and women’s soccer teams are hosting a double-header tomorrow afternoon at Parson’s Field, with the women facing Hofstra at 3 p.m. and the men facing Old Dominion at 6 p.m. That rare Husky double-header will help raise money for Malia, the young daughter of Glen Jusczyk ’98, an alumnus who played soccer at Northeastern for four years, who is battling cancer. The women’s volleyball squad — currently just a half-game out of first place in the CAA — will play VCU at 7 p.m. at Solomon Court.
