Ramamurti will attend a brainstorming session being held by the UNCTAD Division on Investment, Technology and Enterprise Development in Geneva, Switzerland on September 19th and 20th where participants will discuss the conceptual and empirical framework, structure and content of UNCTAD’s forthcoming World Investment Report 2008: FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) in Infrastructure (WIR08). “It is an honor to be selected for such a task,” said Ramamurti. “The subject of foreign direct investment in infrastructure is of vital importance to the emerging economies and the global economy. It is a fitting theme for WIR 08.” Ramamurti is one of approximately a dozen advisors around the world selected based on their scholarly standing and expertise in the subject matter being examined. He will be asked to share his experience and comments with the UNCTAD team and his participation will be acknowledged in the final report. “This is an important acknowledgement of Professor Ramamurti’s scholarly expertise,” said Thomas Moore, Dean of the College of Business Administration at Northeastern University. “It comes at a particularly appropriate time, as he is leading the creation of our new Center for Emerging Markets, a world-class center for research and scholarship on Emerging Markets.” About Northeastern: Founded in 1898, Northeastern University is a private research university located in the heart of Boston.
