Photos of the year: Matthews Arena, prosthetic limbs, and colorful lobsters

The time has come to say goodbye to 2025 and reflect on a year full of innovation, resilience and vibrancy across communities on campus—and beyond. Students engaged in rigorous research, co-ops and discovery. They brought new ideas to NASA’S SUIT competition, created prosthetic limbs for athletes in their community and collected brilliant lobster specimens for Northeastern’s Marine Science Center. In Boston, students celebrated both men’s and women’s hockey wins, a distinguished commencement ceremony in Fenway Park, and the bittersweet final night of the Matthews Arena. Across the country, students in Oakland uncovered artistic secrets in campus art exhibits and museums, and enjoyed all the beauty of California, right in their own backyard. Over in London, Northeastern’s chancellor received high honors at Windsor Castle, while dancers dazzled students on campus and professors studied delicate, centuries-old artifacts up close.

2025 was a year to remember, and these photos help to commemorate all the good, the beautiful and everything in between. Congratulations on a year well spent, Huskies!
