Perk of the week: Bookstore discount

It’s a sale every day at the Northeastern University bookstore, where employees get a 10% discount with their Husky cards.

What is the perk?

A 10% employee discount at the Northeastern University Bookstore on the Boston campus.

What does it cover?

The store’s inventory includes clothing, calendars, date books, snacks and gum, mugs, office supplies and more.

Kristin Sarnowitz, market leader for the Boston campus bookstore, says, “the bookstore is much more than books. We carry a wide variety of clothing items. T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, crew sweatshirts, polos.”

“We also have our sideline brand, which is Under Armour, which supports all of the athletics. There are hockey jerseys, basketball jerseys and more.”

“We have a whole array of Northeastern gifts, including lanyards, car decals, magnets, drinkware and blankets. We also carry high-end vendors such as Vineyard Vines, Johnny O, Peter Millar and Zero Gravity.”

What is not covered?

Textbooks. Also, when items are on sale, the sale discount applies instead of the employee discount.

How do you get the discount?

Show the cashier your Husky card.

What’s a fun and unique item?

Northeastern University carries gift items designed by graphic designer Julia Gash.  They feature the Charles River, Krentzman Quad and King Husky.
