You have to hand it to Husky ambassador Liz Feltner, who will advance to the “Jeopardy!” National College Championship finals after successfully answering a tense, tie-breaker question on Friday night’s episode—this Husky knows how to perform under pressure.

The fifth-year student remained tied with Kristin Donegan, a Carnegie Mellon University student,  after the popular quiz show’s ‘Final Jeopardy’ round. Suddenly, Feltner’s fate hinged on one game-deciding response.

The clue, read by “Jeopardy!” host Mayim Bialik, was this: “A 1920s trip to France inspired him to compose ‘An American in Paris,’”  

Feltner’s physical reaction said it all. She gasped. Her hand flew to her mouth as she rang the buzzer and provided the winning response: “Who is Gershwin?” 

The victory means Feltner could win the $250,000 grand prize and earn the title of “Jeopardy!” National College Champion. She’ll face-off against the other finalists, Jaskaran Singh of University of Texas at Austin and Raymond Goslow of Kennesaw State University in the last game airing Tuesday at 8 p.m.

The “Jeopardy!” National College Championship featured 36 students who competed through four semi-final games to make it to the final championship. The three highest-scoring semifinal winners, including Feltner, moved onto the final round.

Feltner has a knack for bold victories. She steadily advanced from last place to a tie during her first appearance in the “Jeopardy!” National College Championships, which aired on February 11. During the Final Jeopardy! round in that contest, she made a gutsy, all-or-nothing bid that secured her win.

“I was just excited for the opportunity and the experience to be on the set and to even play the game,” said Feltner in an earlier interview. “It was fully a dream come true.”

Feltner, a fifth-year political science and business administration major at Northeastern, applied to be in the “Jeopardy!” National College Championship nearly a year before she was asked to come on the show. The lifelong “Jeopardy!” fan spent Thanksgiving weekend in California filming alongside a total of 36 other college students. 

Previous episodes, including Feltner’s first competition, are available on Hulu. The championship airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
