Cap off your Northeastern experience with 2021 Senior Week events

Northeastern’s 2021 Commencement is upon us—and graduating seniors on the Boston campus can celebrate by participating in Senior Week events that take place across the city. View a schedule of events below, and register here to participate.

Saturday, May 1

Lucky Strike Takeover

Kick off Senior Week with a night of bowling, pool, and arcade games at Lucky Strike Fenway from 2:30-4 p.m. or 4:30-6 p.m. EDT. Bowling tickets can be purchased in groups of six for $15 per person; pool can be purchased in groups of four for $15 per person; and arcade access can be purchased for $20 per person.

Jason Derulo Concert and Live Q&A

Tune into a virtual concert with R&B and pop singer, songwriter, and dancer Jason Derulo exclusive to graduating students. The concert and Q&A session will be held over Zoom at 8 p.m. EDT.

Sunday, May 2

Stuff a Husky

Celebrate a Northeastern tradition by stuffing your very own Husky pal. Participate onsite at the Bamboo Garden Tent in Robinson Quad from 12-3 p.m. EDT or drop by and pick up your own kit.

Graduation Cap Decorating

Decorate your graduation cap to show your Northeastern pride at Commencement. Head to the Industry Place Tent on Robinson Quad from 12-3 p.m. EDT to pick up supplies or work on your cap in the tent.

Monday, May 3

The Last Lecture

As selected by the class of 2021, associate professor of psychology Rebecca Shansky will deliver a lecture echoing the renowned “Last Lecture” by the late Randy Pausch. Head to Blackman Auditorium or join virtually at 11 a.m. EDT to hear Shanksy discuss the unique stressors of the past year in relation to the neuroscience of stress.

Honors Senior Cording Ceremony

Join the University Honors Program and Honors program graduating seniors for a virtual Senior Cording Ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2021 class. Register to tune in at 12 p.m. EDT.

Procession

Don your cap and gown to participate in a new Northeastern tradition—a procession across campus. Start from West Village and head along the predetermined route to Matthews Area, where participants will have the opportunity to hear their name called, walk across the Commencement stage, have an official photo taken (which they will receive gratis), and enjoy a swag bag. The procession will occur from 3-5 p.m. EDT from Monday, May 3, through Friday, May 7.

Tuesday, May 4

Senior Night at Fenway Park

Celebrate Commencement week at Fenway Park as the Red Sox take on the Detroit Tigers. The game will begin at 7:10 p.m. EDT, but arrive early to hear a Northeastern senior sing the national anthem. Tickets cost $15-20 each.

Wednesday, May 5

Not Your Average Boston History Walking Tour

From 1-3 p.m. EDT, join a walking tour of Boston—from Downtown Crossing to the North End, with discussions of famous and infamous moments in Boston history along the way. The tour, which costs $5, will begin at Downtown Crossing.

Movie Night

Join fellow students for private showings of “Chaos Walking” or “Knives Out” at the AMC Boston Common 19 at 7 p.m. EDT. Tickets cost $5, and include a regular-size drink and popcorn combo.

Thursday, May 6

Boston Duck Boat tours

Explore Boston with three private Duck Tours that traverse land and water and propel you through Boston’s rich history. Tours depart at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. EDT from Northeastern’s Forsyth Circle, and cost $10 per person.

Paint Night with Celebrity Guest

A surprise celebrity guest will lead graduates in a virtual paint night at 8 p.m. EDT. The event is complimentary, but a small set of brushes, paints, a canvas, and a snack pack can be purchased for $10.

Friday, May 7

Senior Donor Champagne Reception

Undergraduate seniors who made a gift to Northeastern in the past year are invited to toast their accomplishments at a reception at 300 Massachusetts Ave. from 5-6 p.m., 6:30-7:30 p.m., or 8-9 p.m. EDT.

Saturday, May 8

Undergraduate Commencement

Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies will be held at Fenway Park at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. EDT. Keep an eye on the official Commencement website for communications from the Commencement Office.

College of Professional Studies Commencement

The Commencement ceremony for College of Professional Studies graduates will be held at Fenway Park at 7 p.m. EDT. Check out the CPS graduation website for details.

Sunday, May 9

Graduate Commencement

Graduate-level scholars will participate in their Commencement ceremonies at Fenway Park at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. EDT. Keep an eye on the official Commencement website for communications from the Commencement Office.

Monday, May 10

Rainbow Graduation 2021

Students graduating between December 2020 and December 2021 are invited to participate in a Rainbow Graduation ceremony to honor the LGBTQA+ community. Fill out this form to attend the virtual ceremony at 5:30 p.m. EDT.
