A group of local children had a special treat on Tuesday: a fun field trip to the Northeastern University Police Department. The kids from the Learn and Play Child Care Center, located in the St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church on Tremont Street, were all smiles as officers read them stories, gave them a behind-the-scenes tour of the operations center, and even let them take a look inside police cruisers. Officer John Farrell said NUPD meets with the children at the child care center monthly, as part of the department’s efforts to engage with the communities around Northeastern’s campus. Our photographer was there to capture all the excitement.
