The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for eastern Massachusetts starting early Tuesday morning. Heavy snowfall combined with high winds will create dangerous travel conditions.

As a result, Northeastern has canceled all day and evening classes, and closed administrative offices for Tuesday, March 14.

“The safety of our community is our top priority,” the university said in an email to students, faculty, and staff. “This decision is consistent with recommended travel restrictions from local and state officials and will ensure that our facilities crews can manage the effects of the storm and maintain a safe campus. Supervisors should assure that there is continuity of critical university functions, and staff may work remotely if feasible and appropriate.”

Online classes remain unaffected and will continue to be accessible to students. Northeastern’s regional campuses in Charlotte, Seattle, Silicon Valley, and Toronto will remain open.

Here is Tuesday’s updated schedule for a range of Boston campus services:

Dining:

The following dining locations will be open: International Village (8 a.m.–8 p.m.), Stetson East (8 a.m.–8 p.m.), and Stetson West (2 p.m.–8 p.m.)

Library and Student Center:

Snell Library and Curry Student Center, including the game room, will maintain normal hours of operation

Recreation:

Marino Center will be open (10 a.m.–8 p.m.); Badger and Rosen SquashBusters Center and Cabot Center will be closed; all club sports, intramural sports, and fitness programs are canceled
