The deadline for nomination is midnight on Friday, March 17. “Students who are selected as a member of the Huntington 100 are truly impressive, often in a multitude of ways,” said Emily Hardman, director of student programming and communication for Student Affairs. “The competition is fierce, and virtually every nominee is worthy of recognition and high praise.” First, though, a student has to be nominated. Anyone—including faculty, staff, advisors, coaches, employers, and fellow students—can nominate a deserving graduate or undergraduate student by filling out a nomination form online. Nominators must also provide a recommendation letter that includes information on the student’s academic success, global experience, leadership on campus, entrepreneurial spirit, community service, and research experience. A panel of judges composed of representatives from each college, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Office of Alumni Relations will review the nominations and make selections. The judges will make their choices by the end of March, and this year’s class of the Huntington 100 will be announced in early April. Recipients in years past have included students who participated in experiential learning around the world, from South Africa to the Netherlands to India. Huntington 100 alumni represent a broad swath of Northeastern’s student population, from athletes to resident assistants, student group leaders to entrepreneurs, and more. “Students who make the list should be incredibly proud of their achievements,” Hardman said. “Being selected means that they have demonstrated exceptional abilities to lead, serve, inspire, and collaborate with high impact. While the students are awarded with a certificate, pin, and graduation stole, Huntington 100 students are also inducted into a guild that celebrates excellence and distinction.” This story has been updated to reflect a change in the nomination deadline from March 10 to March 17.
