The Huskies hit a 3-pointer on their first possession of the game, and Northeastern has battled the Notre Dame Fighting Irish toe-to-toe throughout the first half in an exciting game here in Pittsburgh.

Northeastern trails Notre Dame 31-27 at the half. The Huskies have made several timely baskets and defensive stops throughout the half in what has been a seesaw battle thus far. Scott Eatherton, David Walker, Reggie Spencer, and Zach Stahl are the Huskies’ leading scorers with six points apiece. Walker also has four assists, a team high.

Meanwhile, the Northeastern fans have been fired up and passionate since the opening tip-off, alternating “North” and “eastern” chants with the pep band throughout the half, waving red towels, and hanging on the edge of their seats with every shot the goes up.

Hang on to your hats. The action thus far points to a thrilling second half of play here at the Consol Energy Center.
