A weekend to remember
Campus buzzed with excitement this weekend as Northeastern students’ families arrived to celebrate the annual Parent and Family Weekend, a three-day event in which the university community came together to experience a range of campus events.
Throughout the weekend, parents had a chance to meet their students’ resident hall directors and learn more about the university’s colleges, faculty, global experiential learning programs, research initiatives, student organizations, and more. Families also cheered on the Huskies at home games for volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s hockey, and field hockey.
President Joseph E. Aoun officially welcomed visitors to campus at a special address Saturday morning in Blackman Auditorium, which was followed by a family barbecue. Later in the day, the College of Arts, Media, and Design hosted the annual event’s first-ever fashion show and fundraiser titled “From Desk to Dawn,” the show featured styles from designer and Northeastern parent Kathleen McFeeters’ New York Fashion Week dresses. Proceeds supported Scout, Northeastern’s student-led design studio.
