A Salty Solution to Sustainable Development Benjamin Greer, a fourth-year architecture student, developed a new sustainable model of coastal urban development for mitigating urban runoff and storm surge contamination. Using Assembly Square in Somerville, Mass., as a testing ground for his model, he proposed converting more than 50 acres of derelict industrial lowland back to its original form as a salt marsh. His project earned him a prestigious RISE Award this spring. Video by Ursula August by Craig LaPlante June 3, 2013
