WeekendWatch: Gingerbread, entrepreneurs and theatre

Classes are over and final exams are wrapping up, so take a break from studying to enjoy Boston during the holiday season.

Gingerbread Village: Students spent Thursday evening creating 65 gingerbread houses with 700 pounds of gingerbread, 1,200 pounds of icing and 2,000 pounds of candy in Stetson East. You can vote for your favorite on both Friday and Monday at the Xhibition Kitchen in the annual Northeastern Gingerbread House Construction Contest.

Holiday Entrepreneurs: Finish your Christmas shopping early by swinging by the Curry Student Center between noon and 2 p.m. today for the Entrepreneur Holiday Fair, which was organized by the Center for Research Innovation, the Northeastern Entrepreneurs Club and IDEA, Northeastern’s Venture Accelerator.

Husky Hockey: The men’s hockey team faces off against UMass Lowell on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the final home game of the semester.  The Huskies have won five games in a row, including back-to-back victories against No. 7 Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.

High-kicks and aerial acrobatics: Boston is hosting two visiting theatre productions — a performance of the classic Radio City Christmas Spectacular at the Citi Performance Arts Center’s Wang Theatre and a theatre-in-the-round showing of Peter Pan at City Hall Plaza. Tickets for both performances start at about $25.

Skating on the Common: Uncharacteristically warm weather delayed its opening, but the skating rink at the Boston Common Frog Pond is finally ready for your signature take on the triple axel. The rink is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Dashing through the street: A group of runners will brave the cold in a jaunt through the Back Bay streets on Saturday afternoon in the annual Santa Speedo Run, an event in which scantily clad runners raise money for the Play Ball Foundation. Runners had to register and raise money in advance, so it’s too late to sign up, but it’s not too late to bundle up and cheer on the participants from the sidewalk. The run begins at the Lir Tavern at 903 Boylston St. at 1 p.m.
