It’s a Beanpot sweep for Northeastern as Huskies take Women's final with 4-3 defeat of BU

The Huskies’ first Beanpot title since 2013, coupled with the men’s double-overtime victory over BU Monday, gave the Huskies their first sweep of the tournament in 32 years.

Women’s Beanpot final tied 3-3 in overtime

On the threshold of the first Northeastern sweep of the Beanpot in 32 years, the women on Tuesday instead met the fate of the men, who lost a lead with a second left before beating BU 5-4 in double overtime Monday.

Northeastern and BU tied 1-1 in Women's Beanpot final

Northeastern forward Chloe Aurard scored off a rebound at a packed Walter Brown Arena at Boston University, and the Huskies evened the score in the 42nd Women’s Beanpot final.

Huskies look to complete a Beanpot sweep

Northeastern will be competing for a record 17th title against Boston University Tuesday night in the Women’s Beanpot final, as well as a chance to complete a feat the Huskies hockey teams haven’t carried off in 32 years.

The focus shifts across town to Walter Brown Arena. There, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Women’s Beanpot final against Boston University, the Huskies will aim to complete Northeastern’s first sweep of both city championships in 32 years.
