Wizio, a startup founded by entrepreneurs who graduated from Northeastern, provides virtual reality tours of rental properties in Boston and Houston. The goal, says co-founder John Puma, is to improve the process of renting an apartment. “Between poor-quality photos and inaccurate listing info, there’s often a disconnect between the online experience and what you see in person.”
Northeastern on Tuesday night received a prestigious award recognizing the university’s strong culture of entrepreneurship, which includes innovative academic programs, experiential learning, and student-led organizations that help young entrepreneurs launch and grow their own businesses. Northeastern was honored with the Entrepreneurial University Award at the Deshpande Symposium for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education.
