  • Northeastern plans to construct an eight-story, 350,000-square-foot research center on Columbus Avenue. This preliminary rendering shows a facility that will include state-of-the-art labs, dedicated space to support the university’s innovative work in autonomous vehicles, drones, and humanoid robots, and a makerspace to promote collaboration between students across disciplines.

    ‘This is how we want the world to see us’


    A new state-of-the-art research building, to be named EXP, will be built along Columbus Avenue. In the context of the neighboring Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex, it will deepen Northeastern’s commitment to research and integration across disciplines, said Provost James C. Bean.

    This police academy is leading an ‘evolution of the profession’ of law enforcement


    Northeastern has formed a groundbreaking joint venture with the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, a first-of-its-kind academy designed to help reform American law enforcement, says Northeastern University Chief of Police Michael Davis. The inaugural class of 28 police recruits will be training on the Boston campus through September.
