Who won and who lost the local news war when NBC broke up with WHDH

The biggest criticism from Lu Ann Reeb, a former executive producer at WBZ, and Alan Schroeder, a former television producer, is that NBC didn’t try to reinvent the local newscast.
“There was an opportunity to produce something different,” said Reeb, who now teaches entrepreneurship at Emerson College.
Added Schroeder, a journalism professor at Northeastern University: “As a programming strategy, that just mystifies me. If you have four McDonald’s on the block, why would you want to build another one?”
