Study seeks to measure emotional toll of MBTA troubles

Shaky, jittery, nervous, afraid — you might associate these words with going skydiving or on a job interview. But researchers at Northeastern University and Bridgewater State University believe those terms might also describe your morning commute.
As the MBTA seeks to regain the confidence of riders after weeks of cancellations and delays, a pair of academics are using the adjectives to measure the emotional toll — and looking into how much the agency’s efforts to make amends might help.
