Nearly three-quarters of Americans believe artificial intelligence will lead to a net loss of jobs, according to a study by Gallup and Northeastern University released Wednesday. The survey asked roughly 3,300 Americans from Sept. 15 to Oct. 10 about their opinions on artificial intelligence and its perceived impact on their lives. Although 73 percent of respondents said A.I. would eliminate more jobs than it would create, only 23 percent worried that they would lose their job to the new technology. Even so, that’s about double the number of Americans who worry about losing their jobs to immigrants (12 percent).
